I am a professor at a large research university in the US, working in one of the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. I love quantum mechanics. And science fiction. And bad puns. And writing choppy sentences for effect.
The Pseudonyms:
What’s up with the name xykademiqz, you ask? The answer will blow your mind! (No, not really. But almost.)
In 2016, I published a book, Academaze, under the pen name Sydney Phlox (publisher Annorlunda Books). The book is a collection of essays and cartoons on life in academia, based on my years of blogging.
Here’s how the name Sydney Phlox came about. More information about the book, as well as a list of reviews, can be found under the Academaze tab.
I also used to write as GMP over at Academic Jungle.
