Belated Bloggiversary

Happy 1st bloggiversary to Xykademiqz! Actually, it was four days ago, but I’m super busy, and was sick, and am now traveling, so even though WordPress kindly congratulated me, I didn’t really register it…

It’s been fun and less drama-filled (knock on wood!), and definitely less purple than over at Ye Olde Abode. I starting sharing my doodles, which seem to be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for reading!

If you read but don’t comment or don’t do it often, it would be great if you came out to say ‘hi’!

  1. Congrats! I’m a postdoc in the life sciences, a parent of a 10 yo and an occasional commenter. I liked the old place, and I’m enjoying your new cyberhome. I especially like the comics!

  2. Happy bloggiversary! I’m a woman junior faculty member in the physical sciences, in the US, and I always enjoy reading your entries.

  3. Love your blog! Your posts are always very timely and my students thought I was writing them for a while. Except for the love of quantum mechanics part. 🙂

  4. Hi! Physics student from somewhere in Europe here. I mostly always read backlogs of blogs, so when I’m reading new material, I never remember that now I’m reading non-ancient posts and could maybe even comment sometimes.

  5. Hello and happy blogaversary! I rarely comment, but I often read. And when I do read, I always appreciate your candid thoughts. I also enjoy your witty take on academic life shown in your comics. Thank you!

  6. Hi! I’ve commented occasionally. Your blog is great fun and I admire you tremendously. You are super-cool 🙂

I enjoyed reading your old blog too. Sometimes I go back there and look at your cute baby pictures 🙂

  7. @k, it is ok to comment on old blog posts. Probably no one but the author of the blog will see it, but authors still appreciate comments. I’ll respond to comments on my blog, even if the original posts are from years ago.

Congrats to xykademiqz on getting through the year without being overwhelmed by internet trolls.

  8. Love your blog! Congratulations! I am an assistant professor (just turned in my P&T package) at a private, teaching-intensive university. I’m in engineering. I have two kids (ages 4 and 7). Enjoy reading your perspective! I love doing research, I just move at a slower pace (e.g. no PhD program here).

  9. I’ve been enjoying your blog for several years. (Started with your old one.) I’m in the social sciences – some of your posts relate closely to my life, others don’t, all are interesting.

  10. Hi! This is super belated and I’m usually more on top of things, but congrats! I have been reading your blog for several years, though I seldom leave comments. Even so, I definitely appreciate it!
